How One Woman Lost 65 Pounds with Tiny Habit Changes

Adding a veggie to every meal can make a big difference

I recently talked to Morgan Mitchell about her weight-loss journey, and I love how she figured out what works for her, and what doesn’t.

She decided she wanted to keep up with her kids on the playground — not just watch them from the sidelines. So she made small, manageable changes like eating a veggie with every meal, drinking more water, and slowly building an exercise habit.

And she learned what doesn’t work for her, too — pretty much anything where she’s forbidden to eat certain foods. If she wants a burger, she eats a burger. But she might wrap it in lettuce instead of a bun. Or, have a salad with it instead of fries.

She lost 65 pounds so far and she launched a career as a Zumba instructor. Here’s what she shared with me for NBC TODAY.
